Medical System Design & Co-Creation Workshops

Springboard Studio and Mass General Brigham hospital (MGB) partnered with ELEVEN to engage healthcare providers, hospital staff, and patients in a series of design workshops with the goal of making healthcare at MGB more user-friendly for all.

Resulting innovations are supported through pilot launches and implementation. To date, over 15 solutions are making an impact on health outcomes across MGB.

Each program began with a Problem Articulation Workshop.

Discussion tables were curated to share a mix of perspectives between physicians, pharmacists, hospital administrators, patients, and more.

Workshop Topics:

  • How might we reduce physician burnout?

    WeSolve workshop series

  • How might we improve the outpatient experience?

    WeSolve workshop series

  • How might we navigate prior authorization more efficiently?

    WeSolve workshop series

  • How might we improve patient messaging?

    WeSolve workshop series

After Problem Articulation, we synthesized this firehose of data into a handful of challenges ripe for innovation.

We creatively considered the presentation of these challenges so that new eyes may get up to speed quickly and be inspired for creative problem solving.

Finally, interested teams undergo entrepreneurial training preparing to present their solutions to hospital leadership for implementation support.

When solutions require design support, ELEVEN collaborates with the team to prototype and beta test concepts.

See the Remote Rounding Connector project for an in-depth case study.

These workshops stand as a remarkable success benefiting the hospital, uplifting staff morale, and contributing to improved overall health outcomes. Following our collaboration with Springboard Studio, their workshop offerings have seen rapid expansion, backed by the support of MGB.
